My Journey

My story with hypnosis started as a joke. I went to a past life hypnotist for a funny story that I was going to tell my friends. What happened in my session absolutely blew my mind. I was about to interact with my subconscious mind in a way that I thought was impossible. The Hypnotist guided me to a deep state of relaxation, where he asked my subconscious mind for past life information. My subconscious mind flat out said “no” and refused. Instead, it advised the hypnotist that, “Jonathan needs to figure this out for himself.” I was shocked after the session. I didn’t understand why suddenly I started to talk in third person, and what was this deeper part of me? I spent the next 5 years, investigating how to access deeper states of consciousness through Lucid dreaming, sensory deprivation tanks, Zen Buddhist chanting classes, meditation, mediumship (funny story) and psychedelics.

Though I gained skill and insight into my subconscious I was still struggling. “What is the F***ing point to life?” I was unhappy in my current situation, blaming as an excuse to why I was where I was. My worry escalated into anxiety, my feelings of guilt and shame would erupt into anger. The only time I would get excited, would be chasing an extreme experience for the adrenaline and dopamine rush. If I couldn’t get that I would look to mindlessly tune out (food, videogames, Netflix). Even though I wanted to change, it felt like I was on a negative feedback loop and in the end, it cost me my mid-twenties, my health, and a marriage.

It wasn’t until I started working with a teacher/guide that specialized in working with the internal parts of the mind, that I could finally untangle the root causes of my emotions, beliefs and behaviours that were keeping me in this negative feedback loop. This process led me on an incredible journey of unburdening younger versions of my psyche which led to fundamental changes in my patterns. “I figured it out for myself”, and doing so has led to me to helping others work with their subconscious mind.

So, who am I talking to?

I am talking to the person that seems to always be getting in the way of their own success. Maybe you can start a goal, but it never really sticks. Maybe you are heading in a good direction, but get trigged and this results in negative habits, patterns, or beliefs. You get taken off course and keep ending up back at the start. You may be starting to notice a pattern and looking for an approach that will lead to permanent change.

Why do you want to do Hypnotherapy?

You can’t intellectualize a solution to your psychological problem. Example, take a phobia. Its easy to consciously think of all the reasons why you shouldn’t be afraid of flying but its another thing all together in overcoming your fear of flying. That’s because your fear/anxiety of flying sits deep in the mind. This requires accessing this deeper part of the mind, discovering the root cause, releasing the emotions/trauma that’s there, and relearning at the subconscious level. This process is the foundation of Hypnotherapy and is very successful in creating lasting change.
